Toby Page has more than 20 years of experience in the Lighter-than-air industry, predominantly in the areas of airship sales, marketing, broadcast integration and campaign management. A British citizen by birth, he joined The Lightship Group (TLG) in 1998 as an Account Manager touring Europe with one of Goodyear’s famous blimps. TLG, owned by the Virgin Group, was formed as a joint venture by Richard Branson and the American airship manufacturer, American Blimp Corp., and grew to become the world’s largest and most successful blimp advertising company. In 1999 Toby moved to the United States to head up TLG’s North American sales, and then in 2003 became Global Marketing Director.
Toby has experience selling and managing blimp campaigns across the globe, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, China, Japan, and extensively throughout Europe. During his time with TLG Toby has been directly responsible for sales worth in excess of $150 million, and has worked closely with many Fortune 500 companies to design and manage some of the world’s most successful blimp campaigns, such as Goodyear, Anheuser-Busch, Monster.com, Sanyo, MetLife, Saturn (General Motors), Holden (General Motors Australia), NBC Universal, and AT&T/Directv.
Key components of any successful blimp advertising campaign include, PR, event activation, social media and broadcast integration. Toby has extensive knowledge of all these areas and how they form part of a 360° blimp marketing campaign to generate a positive return on investment. Part of that has involved working closely with many of the world’s premiertelevision networks to integrate his client’s blimp campaigns directly with some of the biggest sporting and cultural events on the planet by providing stunning live aerial footage of events in return for integrated branding exposure. Networks include NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, TNT, TBS, SKY SPORTS, BBC. Events include NFL, MLB, NASCAR, NCAA Football, PGA golf, European PGA golf, Premier League Soccer, MLS, horse racing, tennis, NBA, NHL, cricket, and the Olympics.
Most recently Toby has been responsible for State Farm Insurance’s fixed wing aerial filming integration within NCAA college football, NFL and World Series broadcasts, partnering with FOX, CBS and Turner Sports. In addition, in March of 2022, he was instrumental in launching a major airship campaign in Japan for Asahi Beer.
