Second meeting of the United Kingdom Local Organizing Committee held in the historic Greenwich Townhall

GREENWICH, UNITED KINGDOM Representatives of the stakeholders held their second meeting of the World Sky Race United Kingdom Local Organizing Committee. The meeting was held in the historic Greenwich Townhall. The meeting leadership established a resolution and assignments for planning future programs to raise awareness of the World Sky Race and expand the involvement of Greenwich as a primary site. Programming elements for the upcoming ITB Berlin were considered and a plan of action was set out to coordinate activities with other Local Organizing Committees. Speakers included Per Lindstrand, historic and famous balloonist, talking about the epic challenges encountered in his setting aviation records with Sir Richard Branson. Mr. Geoffrey Belcher, Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site Coordinator, spoke on the up-lifting role the World Sky Race will play in providing UNESCO developed educational tools for school children in the global classrooms. Mr. Alastair Gunning, Director Lindstrand AeroPlatforms, Ltd., was nominated and selected to be an Advisory Director to the United Kingdom Local Organizing Committee.
