The World Air League announces the Texas Sky Cup 2017

HOUSTON, TEXAS - The Houston Texans hosted the World Air League at Reliant Stadium to announce the Texas Sky Cup. During the Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game, the Texas Sky Cup was premiered on the video score boards and the LED displays surrounding the stadium. Sports enthusiasts and Texan fans were treated and entertained by the state-of-the-art graphics displays.
The Texas Sky Cup will be a series of airship and blimp races competing across the Lone Star State. Starting in Houston, the Sky Teams will race to Austin and San Antonia and back to Houston. The second race will include Dallas and Ft. Worth as the turn-around destination. And, the third race will lap around the icons and skylines of the Houston Galveston metro region. The overall fastest Sky Team will be crowned the Texas Sky Champions.
The Texas Sky Cup is the first planned exhibition skyship race by the World Air League. The Texas Sky Cup will test the Sky Teams' tactics, equipment and strategies under competitive conditions and will be trumpet call for the World Sky Race 2017.

Participating in the Texas Sky Cup roll-out program were Jamie Rootes (president of the Houston Texans), Sandra Stanchan (Greater Houston Partnership), and Harry Gee (co-chair of the World Sky Race Texas Local Organizing Committee).
